Joy Daniels Schwartz

The Artist is a low country native, having been born in Savannah and lived on Hilton Head in the 1990s.

Joy left the low country for almost a quarter century in 1985.   In 2010 she returned to her native Savannah and established studio.   Her paintings are exhibited in the Downstairs Gallery in Savannah and other Savannah venues.

Though her subject matter covers a wide range, her love of the natural surroundings of her home has long inspired her to paint the scenes she finds up and down the South Eastern coast.  Joy creates informal portraits as well, meaning that her subjects are painted in a setting familiar to their lifestyle.

The artist has drawn and painted since childhood.  Her studies include the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio and at The Ringling School in Sarasota, Florida.

Her medium is oil.
